Melissa, owner of ALIGN | mind body soul, loves sharing with others the benefits of yoga, Pilates, and eastern medicine practices. She has been practicing yoga since 2001, but it wasn't until 2011 when she added Pilates to her routine that she experienced the powerful effects that combining the two disciplines had on her body and her mind. She loves to share her knowledge of the complementary practices of yoga and Pilates and her knowledge of Ayurveda, an ancient holistic health system. All three disciplines emphasize a strong connection between mind, body, and soul.
Melissa has been teaching since 2013 when she obtained her 200-hour yoga certification through Invoke Studio. Since then, she has taught over 1,000 hours of yoga. She completed her Peak Pilates Level I certification in Chicago in 2017 and teaches both mat and Pilates on equipment. Melissa also has a dance and cheerleading background and is certified to teach ballet-inspired barre.
All of her classes emphasize the alignment of the mind, body, and soul. Melissa's goal is for you to leave her classes feeling lighter, more-centered, and more connected to yourself.
